Position Summary: 

Serves as technical resource for development, operation, and support of Community Collaboration platforms and applications. Maintains and strengthens a suite of Alfresco and Java installations serving the ICANN community.Working with mostly onshore resources, will refine, plan, develop and release new features. Will troubleshoot production issues while prioritizing and managing system upgrades, product sunsets, and service integrations.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain and Development: Maintain applications and develop features, including understanding requirements, prioritizing work and planning releases.
  • Plan for Contingencies: Anticipate and plan for outages and remediation across environments and services, including caching, search, load balancing and replication.
  • Implement Best Practices: Learn and Implement continuous integration and delivery, containerization and pipelines, test-driven development, and testing automation.
  • Cross-Functional Coordination: Schedule maintenance windows; troubleshoot production issues with cloud infrastructure and release management teams.
  • Optimize Performance: Build scrum team velocity; reduce bug occurrence; decrease the time required to move code into production; consolidate system architecture.

 

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)

  • Knowledge and Experience In: Alfresco, Java, Tomcat, GitHub, Eclipse, JavaScript, Unix, SQL.
  • Excellent Skills In: System integrations; troubleshooting production issues; code and process documentation.
  • Demonstrated Ability To: Collaborate and communicate in a team setting; manage multiple messaging channels.
  • General Knowledge Of: Content management and modeling, microservices and headless architecture.
  • Experience In:  Google suite, Office suite, bug documentation, and reproduction.

 

Education and Experience Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Programming, or equivalent professional application development experience.
  • Minimum of 1 - 3 years’ experience in software development for public-facing Web applications, involving a CMS or DMS.
