IT Technical Support Intern

 

Avant Healthcare, a Carmel, Indiana-based company, is looking for Computer Information Science major interested in increasing their knowledge and understanding of the role of technical support in an Information Technology Department. The IT Technical Support Intern will be a contributing member of the team with the opportunity to apply what they have learned in their degree program.

 

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot technical issues on workstations, servers, network, and telecommunication devices
     
  • Collaborate with end users on implementing hardware and software solutions
     
  • Provide end-user training as needed
     
  • Track user equipment in our company’s inventory system, including quantities, model numbers, users, and provide reports as needed
     
  • Recommend hardware and software solutions for purchase and participate in the purchase and procurement process
     
  • Participate in projects in support of information technology goals and objectives

 

Skill Requirements

  • Moderate understanding of PC hardware configurations, Microsoft Operating Systems, Windows Office Products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), and networking concepts

  • Project management skills

  • Customer service skills

  • Effective verbal, written communication and presentation skills

 

Preferred Area of Study/Majors

  • Computer Information Science or related discipline
