Project Manager

Title: Project Manager

Reports to: Program Manager

Classification: Exempt


Summary of the Job

The Project Manager is both accountable to and responsible for all aspects of the development and implementation of assigned projects. This individual takes projects from the initiating phase through final closing, which includes the planning, coordination, creation, and launch of project deliverables. The Project Manager serves as a single point of contact for those projects and will work with the Account Manager to communicate and facilitate a strategically aligned implementation plan across multiple internal and external cross-functional teams. He or she will also define project scope and objectives and develop detailed work plans, schedules, and status reports. The Project Manager conducts project meetings and ensures adherence to quality standards and reviews all project deliverables. He or she is fully accountable for the team’s commitment to delivering the highest quality work, on time and on budget, to meet and ultimately exceed our client’s expectations.


Essential Functions

  • Ensure that all projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget
  • Day-to-day management of internal cross-functional teams, as well as subcontractors, to ensure successful delivery of the project
  • Assist in the definition of project scope and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders, during
    project initiation
  • Develop a detailed project plan to monitor and track progress
  • Plan, schedule, and monitor work to meet time, budget, and quality targets in accordance with
    relevant guidelines
  • Provide guidance to the internal team to ensure appropriate stakeholders are involved at the necessary stages of the project
  • Manage client reviews/approval processes for all project deliverables
  • Communicate directly with the client and/or client stakeholders as needed regarding project details
  • Report and escalate issues and risks to program managers as needed and take action to
    provide solutions
  • Perform risk planning and mitigation to minimize project risks
  • Participate in project audits, ensuring adherence to project management methodology

Additional Functions

  • Attend and contribute to department meetings and trainings

  • Help to create service or departmental standard operating procedures

  • Participate in the continuing professional development program

  • This position may require overnight/weekend travel (up to 10%)

  • This position is required to work occasional nonstandard work hours (up to 20%) in accordance with project needs, deadlines, deliverables, and urgent client requests

Education and Experience

  • 2+ years of project management experience
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Experience leading project teams required
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Project Management Institute methodology; project management
    certification preferred
  • Regulated industry experience preferred, specifically in the pharmaceutical industry
