Job Summary
The Digital Strategy Director is an integral resource for helping advance the company’s vision, strategies, goals, and objectives to accelerate DWA’s capabilities in digital marketing and dramatically enhance customer engagement for our brands. The role will significantly contribute to transforming DWA into a digitally savvy organization where digital is integrated across all channels and is essential to brand strategies.

Essential Functions

  • Understand the full scope of the client’s business and objectives to develop, present, and pull through digital solutions for global pharmaceutical and biotech brands

  • Effectively use customer insight and brand knowledge to create digital strategies that establish more relevant connections between customers and the brand

  • Apply broad expertise from a host of digital channels (online, mobile, social, search, e-mail, CRM, experiential, etc) to create tactical solutions that increase engagement across multiple types of peer-to-peer audiences

  • Play a critical advisory role on dedicated client engagements, serving as the go-to subject matter expert on digital engagement for both account leads (internal) and clients (external)

  • Help foster digital evangelization and education initiatives within the firm

  • Contribute to a larger digital strategy team as an essential component for advancing agency digital vision and meeting goals from innovation, client satisfaction, and financial perspectives

  • Liaise and integrate with all cross-functional teams, applying not only knowledge, but also a “roll up the sleeves” pioneering mindset to deliver exceptional work on these strategies

  • Continually monitor new technological and creative developments across the digital landscape and translate to actionable strategies, tactics, and solutions the organization can utilize to ensure competitiveness in the healthcare marketing space

  • Partner with digital creative, advertising, and research and analytics elements of the organization to conceive next-generation solutions that heavily embrace ROI/measurement and audience personalization

  • Establish benchmarks, champion best practices, and continually inform account teams on successful/proven digital examples to constantly advocate for the discipline

  • Embody the digital first mindset of the agency and help instill it in others

Additional Functions

  • This position will require occasional overnight/weekend travel

  • This position requires the employee to work occasional nonstandard work hours in accordance with project needs, deadlines, deliverables, and urgent client requests

Education and Experience

  • 7-10 years of digital agency experience

  • At least 5 years of healthcare communications experience, preferably with an HCP/P2P focus

  • BS required; concentration in advertising, marketing, business administration, and/or communications

  • An agent of change with a track record of engaging and enrolling stakeholders in new ideas

  • Strong collaboration and influence skills to work across functions and drive results

  • Commanding presentation skills are a must

  • Broad experience creating and delivering in multiple digital areas, including online, mobile, social, search, e-mail and CRM, experiential, and video/animation

  • Team player with the confidence and integrity to earn client and internal team confidence quickly

  • Ability to deftly manage multiple brands and maintain a thorough understanding of complex clinical content

  • Deep understanding of digital performance metrics through collaboration with media partners and internal resources

  • In-depth knowledge of integrated marketing and digital disciplines, including audience identification and analysis, targeting, experience design, digital production, and online analytics

  • Demonstrate sharp strategic thinking and effective problem solving skills

  • Ability to work within and effectively contribute to a team and decisively organize multiple assignments for both self and team direct reports

  • Adherence to tight deadlines while delivering flawless work
