MEDICAL RECORD INTAKE SPECIALIST

We are currently seeking a Medical Record Intake Specialist to join our MedCert Value Stream team, working from our beautiful office in downtown Portland, Oregon.

This person will work closely with our MedCert Director and Team lead to provide case review preparation and support.

POSITION DESCRIPTION

  • Case Preparation
    • Culling medical records and listing included materials
    • Verifying Information
      • Appropriate documentation, specialty, and patient information
      • Attaching additional documentation that has been mailed or faxed
    • Writing case specific directions for medical reviewers
    • Scanning necessary documents and uploading data, as needed
    • Verifying that client-specific case requirements have been included

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS and ABILTIES

  • High School Diploma required and Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • 1+ years of Healthcare experience or exposure to medical terminology
  • Must be a proficient user of MS Office specifically, Word and Outlook
  • Ability to manipulate documents (converting PDFs to Word documents and Word documents to PDFs)
  • Ability to type 60+ word per minute and compose professional documents in MS Word
  • Proven ability to write professional communications in MS Outlook
  • Proficient in navigating web browsers and web-based applications (opening new tabs/windows, selecting drop down menus, etc.)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Must possess a strong customer service orientation
  • Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to complete assigned daily tasks on a routine basis
