MEDCERT MEDICAL REVIEW CLINICIAN ASSISTANT

We are currently seeking an experienced Medical Review Clinician Assistant to join our clinical operations team, working from our beautiful office in downtown Portland, Oregon .

ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Reviewing and synthesizing clinical documentation into written clinical summaries
  • Providing quality assurance on physician reviews by checking for medical correctness and adherence to policy language
  • Problem solving issues related to clinical accuracy of medical reviews with clients and peer reviewers
  • Providing feedback/coaching on peer quality under the guidance of the MedCert Program Manager

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Associate or Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Must have medically related certification in one of the following areas: Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), Certified Behavioral Health Technician (CBHT) Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), Certified Pharmacy Technician (CphT), Paramedic or similar program
  • Experience with Utilization Management, Prior Authorization, or Case Management in a Behavioral Health setting is highly preferred
  • Must have at least 2 years’ experience in a fast-paced case review or clinical operations setting, and possess knowledge of clinical terminology and standards
  • A minimum of 1 year of experience in an office setting is highly preferred
  • Excellent clinical writing and documentation skills, and customer service
  • Computer literacy with demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office, email, database and contact management software, and browser-based workflow applications
  • Exhibit high degree of professionalism in written and verbal communications
  • Ability to accurately type at least 45 words per minute
  • Attention to detail; critical eye to catch mistakes and formatting errors; ability to proof documents sent to referring entities
