WSP is currently seeking an Intermediate Mechanical Technologist to join our Mechanical & Electrical Department, located at our Victoria office. Reporting to the Manager, Mechanical this position will be responsible for a technical role in the mechanical engineering group in the Victoria office.



  • Reporting directly to a Project Manager
  • Working in a team environment
  • Taking responsibility for project assignments
  • Communicating effectively with the design team
  • Reliably and promptly responding to clients’ needs
  • Understanding and practicing safe work procedures
  • Working on a wide range of project assignments within the mechanical buildings field, including HVAC, plumbing and fire protection
  • Preparing load calculations utilizing industry standard heating/cooling load analysis and energy modelling software
  • Preparing project documentation utilizing industry standard drafting and BIM modelling software
  • Following established quality assurance and quality control processes
  • Ensuring that drawings and specifications meet established project criteria and applicable standards
  • Other duties as assigned/required.


  • Technical college degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited institution
  • Registration with ASTTBC.
  • 2 - 5 years of experience in consulting mechanical design engineering for buildings is required
  • Comprehensive working knowledge of AutoCAD, REVIT, Microsoft Office are required. Proficiency with CARRIER HAP or TRANE Trace is considered an asset.
  • Comprehensive understanding of building construction and building mechanical systems.
