Given our remarkable growth and evolution, the people agenda is an impressive one and a unique opportunity to shape the culture of one of the largest professional services firms in Canada.

WSP Operates with six lines of business across Canada. We leverage international expertise in a pure play consulting approach, with multiple-segment offerings tailored to the local market serving both private and public sectors.  Our 2021 Strategic Plan puts clients at the centre of what we do, and an agile people agenda is critical in attaining success.

Further contribution is delivered through a strategic advisory capacity to the Canadian leadership team on key organizational issues.

Reporting to the President / Chief Executive Officer, the CPSO has a team of approximately 110 employees inclusive of 8 to 10 direct reports disbursed across Canada.  More specifically, direct reports would include HR Business Line Leaders and Centre of Excellence Leads inclusive of Safety, Talent Development/Attraction/Workforce Planning, Total Rewards, and HR Shared Services.

Success Profile:

  • An exceptional and respected leader with a strong reputation for uncompromising integrity.

  • Proven experience shaping the culture of an organization through delivery of an end to end HR agenda in an organization of at least 5000 people.

  • A track record of creating a climate where people want to do their best through working collaboratively, empowering teams to identify and solve problems, creating a clear sense of identity with the company, and holding teams accountable for meeting their collective goals.

  • Demonstrated good judgment balanced with informed risk taking.

  • Highly professional with strong written and oral communication skills. French Bilingualism is a definite asset.

  • The ability to successfully lead with little direction to meet organizational goals.

  • Financial acumen to broadly balance resources and understand the financial implications and trade-offs of investments in every aspect of the business, including talent.

  • Proven experience as a HR Executive leading both HR business partners and HR functions and Centre of Excellence Leads inclusive of Safety, Talent Development/Attraction/Workforce Planning, Total Rewards, and HR Shared Services, preferably in a professional services environment.

  • Confidence to influence a high caliber team to drive the business to higher performance levels and seize the opportunities.

  • Advanced people and leadership skills to effectively manage relationships which may be indirect in order to achieve consensus, direction and achievement of results.

  • Relevant Post Secondary Education with a minimum fifteen (15) years of related experience with 10+ years in a senior management capacity.

  • Ability to travel within Canada on a regular basis (approx. 25-50%) and on occasion internationally.

  • Strong commitment to Occupational Health and Safety, Quality, and Environmental policies and procedures.

This is a high visibility role that is empowered to have a significant impact on one of the largest professional services firms in Canada.  We invite all individuals who meet the success profile to express their interest in this role by submitting their resume and profile. This role can be based in any of our major corporate offices located across Canada.
