WSP is currently seeking a Manager, Technology to join its team in Vancouver, Canada. Reporting to the Director, Technology, the successful candidate will hold a key position leading the development and positioning of our Technology operations in British Columbia. This is an exceptional opportunity for a seasoned Technology professional with previous accountability in developing market sector, centers of excellence with demonstrated experience in leveraging marketing and business development expertise across a diverse organization. The focus of the Buildings Technology team is in the design and project management of enterprise technologies such Electronic Security system (Access Control / Video Surveillance), Passive Infrastructure (Structured Cabling Systems) and Networks. Our Primary Verticals include Aviation, Healthcare and High-rise Commercial with a focus on Smart Building Infrastructure.



  • The successful candidate will expand upon existing National Strategies and create a defined and focused business plan, which will enable the optimization and growth of integrated services to our clients and support the growth of market share in our regional operations.
  • The candidate will engage business leaders and leverage client and other strategic relationships across British Columbia and in collaboration with Western and Eastern regional directors. 
  • Lead the marketing and selling of the Company’s Technology services in Western Canada and develop opportunities for cross-selling all market segments.
  • Execute on the strategic business plan for Western Canada ensuring regional operations are leveraged and aligned to the National Technology mandate.
  • Develop Electronic Security, Structured Cabling and ICAT Systems expertise and offerings and direct regional business unit.
  • Establish and diagnose business requirements, recommending options and solutions by using organization knowledge.
  • Develop operations in Western Canada based on leveraged client relationships and business development.
  • Oversee strategic projects, proposals and quality control ensuring focus on client needs and profitability targets.
  • Develop cross functional relationships, working with and influencing senior business executives and management to build the competencies of the group and increase market share.
  • Promote synergy and cooperation between regions and markets.
  • Create and present clear strategies and proposals to senior management.
  • Other duties as assigned/required.


  • College or Bachelor degree in a field related to areas of responsibility for the position.
  • Must have experience in electronic security systems such as Access Control, Video Surveillance, Structured Cabling Systems and etc. 
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in a Consulting Engineering role within the Technology industry.
  • The ideal candidate will have a clear understanding of Engineering Consulting and Construction marketplace, be a big picture, strategic thinker, and have a reputation and track record for leading business alignment and growth. The candidate should be able to influence, be a successful communicator, and be a leader with a passion to succeed.
  • Demonstrable business development experience within the local Consulting Engineering Environment.
  • Ability to develop and maintain strong partnerships.
  • Ability to think strategically and develop new services or approaches to market as dictated by demand.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with ability to communicate at all levels of the organization in a direct and professional manner.
