About you:

We are looking for an SEC Reporting & Revenue Accounting Manager who will play a key, hands-on role in ensuring compliance with US GAAP and SEC guidelines as they relate to revenue recognition and other technical matters. Reporting directly to the Assistant Controller, the Manager, SEC Reporting & Revenue Accounting will:


What you'll do: 

  • Review draft contracts with customers. Partner with the sales and legal organization to structure financial terms to ensure consistency with the Company’s revenue recognition models.
  • Perform revenue recognition analysis for executed contracts and recommend revenue accounting details.  Assist in the review and assessment of accounting and financial reporting implications of complex contracts and transactions, as required.
  • Review customer royalty reports to validate mathematical accuracy, compliance with terms of the related revenue agreement, and appropriate GL coding.
  • Assist in the Company’s SEC reporting function, including, but not limited to, preparation of 10-Q/K financial statements and footnotes, drafting of MD&A, maintaining 10-Q/K binder, and reviewing XBRL within Workiva.
  • Stay current with FASB new pronouncements. Conduct frequent research to assess applicability of new pronouncements and recommend implementation plans as appropriate.
  • Manage aspects of the compliance program, including maintenance of the compliance audit schedule, participation in weekly compliance calls, and preparation of schedules as required for Audit Committee reporting.
  • Work with the sales and legal organizations to ensure the sales forecast accurately reflects recognizable revenue from contract with customers.
  • Maintain the company’s Revenue Recognition policy, and update on at least an annual basis to ensure the policy is current and addresses all relevant revenue issues for the company.
  • Assist with updating the company’s SOX process documents to ensure the process documents are current and align with SOX key controls
  • Assist with completion of periodic government surveys
  • Support special project requests as necessary



  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance
  • CPA required, with 4+ years’ experience in public accounting (Big 4 preferred)
  • 2 – 5 years hands-on SEC reporting and/or revenue accounting experience in a relevant industry (software / IP licensing)
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and its application are essential
  • Solid understanding of key principles of ASC 606
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently within a team environment, manage deadlines and balance competing priorities.
  • Knowledge of Oracle 11i/12 a plus
  • Proficient in Excel, Word and PowerPoint
