Join our team as a member of Dierbergs Markets Core Management professionals!  Our Store Management positions are critical to ensuring smooth and efficient operations of a Dierbergs store while delivering exceptional customer service.

Qualifications:

  • 2+ years’ experience in a supervisory position in a comparable environment including, but not limited to, retail, grocery, food service, and hospitality
  •  High school diploma required
  • College degree preferred
  • Strong problem solving skills to include demonstrated ability to make effective decisions, conflict management and understanding complex situations
  • Strong leadership skills including the ability to motivate and inspire others and communicating care/concern for Associates and customers
  • Fosters a positive team environment and works well with others
  • Ability to multi--task and demonstrate a sense of urgency
  • Exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Flexibility and willingness to work a variety of shifts/hours including weekends

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to be able to stand on your feet for up to eight hours
  • Ability to be mobile throughout store for extended periods of time
  • Ability to operate electric pallet jack, high lift, baler, hand jack and safety cutter
  • Ability to lift products weighing up to 65 lbs. (ex: floor to waist, waist to shoulder); occasionally lift up to 40 lbs. overhead
  • Ability to push or pull 6-wheel stock carts with loads weighing up to 250 lbs. and 2-wheelers with loads weighing up to 175 lbs. used to transport cases of product

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Acts as the Manager on Duty
  • Leads, directs and supervises Associates
  • Ensuring all customers receive exceptional customer service by directing and overseeing store operations
  • Maintains Dierbergs’ standards and store conditions
  • Handles, responds to and resolves customer issues and complaints
  • Initiates customer contact
  •  Responds to and resolves Associate issues including, but not limited to, schedule concerns, job performance, accountability, customer complaints, contract violations and issues corrective action
  • Coaches and mentors Associates
  • Understands variables that impact store profitability and assists with controlling such variables affecting store profitability including gross margin, inventory control and operating expenses
  • Assists in managing payroll, labor forecasting, meeting SPAH, scheduling, projections, turnover, monitoring shrink and inventory levels
  • Ensures all internal controls are in place and adhered to
