The Loss Prevention Representative involves an active role in shortage reduction through the identification and apprehension of shoplifters. The Loss Prevention Representative is responsible for preventing losses to Dierbergs in their assigned work locations. The Loss Prevention Representative also monitors for Policy & Procedure discrepancies and reports those found to the Loss Prevention Manager. The Loss Prevention Representative reports directly to the Loss Prevention Manager.

Job Duties

  • Maintains surveillance of the store and apprehends shoplifters according to Dierbergs Policy & Procedure.
  • Completes proper paperwork for all apprehensions and handles evidence according to Policy & Procedure.
  • During scheduled work times, periodically walks through non-sales areas to monitor for Policy & Procedure discrepancies and suspected associate dishonesty and report same to the Loss Prevention Manager or Senior Loss Prevention Specialist.
  • Appears in court when requested to testify on behalf of Dierbergs in a professional manner.
  • Maintains good public relations with shoplifters, customers, law enforcement and fellow Dierbergs associates.
  • Appears in court when requested to testify on behalf of Dierbergs in a professional manner
  • Educate Dierbergs Associates on loss prevention awareness programs
  • Conduct various training meetings related to loss prevention
  • Interact and maintain a professional reputation with Dierbergs Associates, as well as the local authorities, customers, and members of the community

Qualifications

  • Must be at least 21 years of age
  • Posses strong written & verbal communication skills
  • Must be alert & detail oriented
  • Must be a self-motivated and able to work well independently
  • Be able to work effectively with a diverse group of people
  • This position requires approximately 8 hours of walking per shift
  • Have the ability to travel between various store locations
  • Experience preferred, but will train the right candidate
  • Complete required, initial and yearly licensing by St. Louis County/ St. Charles
  • Flexible to travel to various store locations
