Our Pet Segment is seeking a 2nd shift Backup CDL Driver to be a part of our Kaytee division based in Chilton, WI. Your primary role is to transport trailer loads of product to other physical locations- locally.   • Drives gasoline, diesel powered tractor-trailer combination or straight truck to transport and deliver products to our Chilton / local facilities; and short runs to local vendors.
  • Back in drops, pull out full and empty trailers.
  • Work with supervisor on trailers at other locations that are needed.
  • Inspect truck equipment and supplies before and after trips and submits reports indicating condition of equipment.
  • Maintain an accurate daily driving log.
  • Work closely with other drivers and communicate shift information.
  • Maintain good housekeeping; clean truck, sweep and clean up spills.
  • Ability to cover vacations on 1st and 2nd shift when needed.
  • Assist with Warehouse Associate duties (order selecting, loading/unloading of trucks).
  • Other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
  • Responsible for reporting any Food Safety issues to authorized personnel for correction.


  • CDL required, with demonstrated experience driving / backing tractor-trailer combination.
  • Driver’s license with excellent driving record, demonstrating safety first.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to communicate with employees in a manner promoting a “team” work environment.
  • A Kaytee certification in forklift driving is required (company will train).
  • Must be willing to work overtime and adjust work shift schedule based on business needs.
  • Ability to use two-way communication equipment.
  • Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and safe manner.


  • Hours of work will generally be during regular business hours (on each respective shift) and average at least 40 hours a week. 
  • There may be some variation in work hours due to overtime, special projects, deadlines, and other concerns. 
  • Generally, works in exterior environment in all types of varying weather conditions (cold, heat).
