Our Pet Segment is seeking a 3rd Shift Production Supervisor to be part of the Breeder’s Choice division and based in Irwindale, CA.  This position directly supervises 10-20 employees and carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with Company policies and applicable laws.   • Manage shift of 10-20 employees involved in all aspects of production and packaging.

  • Manage staffing levels, assignments, overtime, priorities and performance to maximize productivity and quality of finished product.

  • Reviews production orders or schedules to ascertain product data such as types, quantities, and specifications of products and scheduled delivery dates in order to plan department operations.

  • Plans production operations, establishing priorities and sequences for manufacturing products.

  • Inspects machines and equipment to ensure specific operational performance and optimum utilization.

  • Develops or revises standard operational and working practices and observes workers to ensure compliance with standards.

  • Resolves worker issues or submits unsettled issues to Operations Manager/HR for action.

  • Compiles, stores, and retrieves production data from SAP

  • Proactive advocate as it relates to safety, minimizing exposure to incidents, recordable and lost time injuries.

  • Monitor mechanical performance of equipment and facilities, coordinating corrective action with Maintenance personnel.

  • Manage compliance with Safe Quality Food (SQF) requirements, housekeeping and other quality initiatives. 

  • Monitor and report on various shift performance measurements.


  • Previous supervisory experience (2-4 years) in food production packaging environment and/or a Supervisory Management

  • Degree is desirable. 

  • Strong problem solving skills

  • Excellent oral and written communication  skills

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel

  • Experience with SAP is preferred.

  • Bilingual Spanish is a plus

  • Exhibits objectivity and openness to others' views, fosters open and honest communication; maintains confidentiality


  • Work is performed in a warehouse environment. 

  • Hours of work are midnight to 8am,

  • There will be some variation in work hours to assure coverage during all open business hours.
