Director, Technology Practice, New York

We are searching for a public relations professional to lead client accounts by overseeing the day-to-day projects and/or events to ensure the quality of work meets objectives & provides value.  This role will not only be responsible for the activities of account team members but will also participate in new business development and support organizational initiatives.  Enthusiastic, tireless, passionate and driven people please apply today! Responsibilities include:

  • Developing and cultivating relationships with clients & external audiences.
  • Managing account administration such as billing and financial reporting.
  • Recommending and implementing initiatives that will improve the public’s perception of the client.
  • Partnering with client and potentially other communications firms to develop and complete communications plans.
  • Developing original research, surveys and market studies for existing and new business proposals.
  • Participating in solving practice management issues and providing input to defining the direction of the practice.

  • 10-15 years of enterprise and consumer technology agency experience: Needs to fully understand the enterprise tech or consumer technology media landscape inside and out 
  • Strong writing skills; ability to write content that reaches and persuades audiences
  • Ability to supervise and motivate account staff, and creative problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to develop and deliver presentations and produce program outlines for creative brainstorms.
  • Strong strategic-thinking skills, and the ability to handle and tactfully manage stressful situations.
  • Ability to develop and present new business pitches, with strong project-management skills.
  • Proven relationships with tech media and familiarity with the newest media outlets.
  • Expertise in media relations and established relationships within trade and business media
  • In-depth knowledge of technology industry.
  • Ability to establish trust and develop new relationships with staff, prospects and clients by being a trusted advisor that can provide honest and constructive feedback.
