Duties & Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will be expected to teach core general engineering and mechanical engineering classes in support of our undergraduate (BSME) and our general Master of Science in Engineering (MSEng) programs; establish an externally funded research program; and contribute to departmental, college, and university service. Undergraduate teaching responsibilities will include but are not limited to: 1) in-class lectures in Dynamics, Solid Mechanics, Machine Design, Mechanical Systems Design, 3D Modeling, and related areas; 2) hands-on labs/projects for related courses, including advising Capstone senior design projects. Graduate level teaching may be included based on the applicant’s teaching and research interests.

The College of Engineering and Computer Science invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position of Assistant Professor of Mechanical Engineering. This position is a nine-month appointment starting no later than August 16, 2019.
We invite applicants with academic and/or industrial experience in machine design (component and system level), solid mechanics, advanced manufacturing, 3D modeling and other related areas such as material science and automation.
Prospective applicants must have an earned Doctorate in Mechanical Engineering and professional registration in mechanical engineering is preferred.
