Description

BA-ZAI has an immediate need for a Task Manager for its ATF project located in Martinsburg, WV.  The qualified candidate will manage Task Orders and contractor staff assigned to support missions of our customer.  The Task Manager will  execute duties by the application of general knowledge of management practices utilized to provide direction and support to staff and is tasked with the daily review work progress reports and the prioritization of work and resource scheduling to ensure contract obligations are adhered to. The continuous improvement of employee engagement, employee relations, and productive high quality work practices are key responsibilities for this position. Duties and assignments extend over two shifts, successful candidate must be flexible to manage as needed.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities included but are not limited to:

  • Lead technical / quality performance for the task
  • Monitor and evaluate workloads, workflows, quality statistics, productivity, and production to conformance to AQLs
  • Collect and report statistics
  • Provide input to weekly and monthly reports
  • Attend Quarterly Program Reviews
  • Lead Continuous Process Improvement (CPI) initiatives
  • Make staff assignments
  • Manage / evaluate staff performance including hiring staff and performing personnel disciplinary actions; identify/resolve task problems; and take corrective actions if needed
  • Work to address any changes between tasks, or shifts
  • Lead / coordinate training for task staff
  • Verify proficiency
  • Perform QA reviews for compliance
  • Work with minimal supervision oversight
  • Resolve questions from various sources; resolve inconsistencies or missing data
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Collect and analyze business inputs; model alternative solutions; develop work budgets and schedules; and make sound decisions and recommendations
  • Occasionally lift up to 25 pounds

Education / Experience: (minimum qualifications)

  • Experience managing in a Federal Government contracting environment
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • 10+ years of management experience in a similar environment performing work as described above
  • Knowledge of Project Management principles
  • Understanding of Lean Sigma principles
  • Understanding of ISO concepts and practices 
  • Experience managing groups of 25 or more staff
  • Experience with ATF functions and programs highly desirable
  • Proficient using MS Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint
  • Excellent verbal and written skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills
