Bed Management Solution (BMS) is a real-time, user-friendly, web-based Veterans Health Information Systems and Technology Architecture (VistA) interface for tracking patient movement, bed status, and bed availability.

Minimum Requirements per contract:


Technatomy has an immediate position for a highly motivated and seasoned .NET software engineer.  The engineer will be responsible for maintaining and enhancing web-based application systems. Position requires individual to be experience in designing, developing, enhancing, debugging, implementing, and unit testing web-based software and their database back-ends. Individual will research, test, build, and coordinate the conversion and/or integration of new products based on client requirements; and will design and develop new software products or enhancements to existing software utilizing the Agile (SCRUM) SDLC.  The engineer must have experience with the Microsoft Technology stack (IIS, ASP/.NET, and MS SQL - using visual studio).


POSITION DESCRIPTION (Duties and Responsibilities):

This is a full-time position that requires a combination of strong technical skills working in a distributed team environment.  The successful candidate will be highly motivated and a creative team player with a track record of technical thought leadership.

  • Is expected to develop a firm comprehension of the customers’ requirements and issues and participate in creating approaches that highlight strengths and mitigate weaknesses.

  • Has responsibility for the development, maintenance and execution of project software in accordance with the Software Quality Assurance Plan, testing plans and reports, and the development of documentation and implementation of procedures that conform to the requirements of the contract.

  • Works collaboratively to develop and implement procedures and test plans for assuring quality in a system development environment, which supports large databases and applications.

  • Is responsible for investigating and remediating Section 508 findings.

  • Provides weekly and monthly status reporting to PM in format prescribed to support meeting contract reporting requirements.

  • Supports Peer reviews for program documentation and deliverables.

    Must possess and active VA security clearance (NACI, Moderate BI or High BI)



  • Experience using Microsoft Visual Studio

  • Experience using .NET and MS SQL

  • Working knowledge of Agile System Development Life Cycle (SDLC)

  • Analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Demonstrated programming experience in providing high level enterprise applications and associated database support

  • Experience in initiating, planning, executing, controlling, and delivery of programming tasks

  • Consults with project teams and end users to identify application requirements

  • Ability to work in team-oriented environment

  • Excellent writing skills, and proficient in documentation using Microsoft Office Suite

  • Excellent and proactive interpersonal and communication skills

  • Self-motivated, team player with attention to detail

  • Ability to follow schedule and meet deadlines


Software Experience (5+ years preferred)


  • Microsoft .NET Framework version 4 through current

  • MS SQL



  • Experience with VA Agile development software lifecycle

  • Experience with Rational Toolset

  • Experience in configuration, change and release management disciplines


    Education and Experience (Minimum Requirements):

    Bachelor’s Degree with 8+ years of experience in Information Technology and 5+ years of experience, preferably on VA programs
