Description

POSITION DESCRIPTION (Duties and Responsibilities):

The successful candidate will be a Senior team member with emphasis on implementing, planning, execution and delivery of many major projects involving very complex Oracle databases and middleware in support of critical and non-critical applications. Must be able to meet strict performance standards and timelines.  This person is responsible for all tasking assigned by the Project Manager/Technical Lead to ensure the quality of the work performed and the completion of the work on time. This work includes implementing and maintaining Oracle middleware, Oracle Identity Management products, and database applications in a development, test, stage, functional, and production environments.  Keeps middleware versions up to developed standards and to correct any known security vulnerabilities.  This includes completion of all DLA CERT tasking by the due date. Responsible for closing all REMEDY tickets assigned by the Project Manager/Technical Lead or COTR.

Provide administration support, design, and production maintenance for new and existing Oracle Fusion Middleware components (version 11g and above, including but not limited to:  Oracle WebLogic Server, Oracle Identity Management, Oracle Business Intelligence Publisher, Oracle Access Manager Oracle Enterprise Management).

Research new security threats and maintain security standards on all Application Server implementations.  Monitoring, securing, installing, upgrading and configuring applications utilizing Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM/EM) Grid Control or Oracle Application Server interfaces and options and their associated agents (i.e. Oracle Management Agent, Oracle Management Server and Oracle Management Repository).

 

 

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS - REQUIRED:

Some experience in DBA positions responsible for planning and implementing Oracle Database11g (or higher). OIM Architect must have demonstrated experience Oracle Application Server implementations, to include highly available and failover configurations. Architect must have demonstrated experience in planning and implementing medium to large sized technology projects in support of business initiatives.  Strong knowledge and command of UNIX Oracle Solaris 10/Red Hat Enterprise LINUX 6 (RHEL6) (or higher) operating system environments. Experienced in initiating, planning, executing, controlling, and delivery of projects. OCP certification (or higher) in Oracle version 11gR2 (or higher) and Security+ CE (or higher) certification is required for placement.

  • Working knowledge of System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) best practices

  • Awareness of security-related best programming practices

  • Analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Demonstrated programming experience in providing high level enterprise applications and associated database support

  • Experience in initiating, planning, executing, controlling, and delivery of programming tasks

  • Ability to work in distributed (remote) team-oriented environment. [Size is currently 20 FTEs.]

  • Excellent writing skills, and proficient in documentation using Microsoft Office Suite, including Visio

  • Excellent and proactive interpersonal and communication skills

  • Self-motivated, team player with attention to detail

  • Ability to follow schedule and meet deadlines

     

Software Experience (5+ years preferred)

  • Oracle Database11g (or higher)

  • UNIX Oracle Solaris 10/Red Hat Enterprise LINUX 6 (RHEL6) (or higher)

  • Oracle OIM

  • Oracle OAM

 

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS - DESIRED:

  • Experience with DoD / DLA software lifecycle sustainment

  • Experience with Remedy

  • Experience in configuration, change and release management disciplines

     

    Education and Experience (Minimum Requirements):

    Bachelor’s Degree with 8+ years of experience in Information Technology and 8+ years in the role of Oracle architect, preferably on DOD/DLA programs.

     

    Certifications:

  • Required: CompTIA Security+ certification (or higher)

  • Desired: relevant Computing Environment (CE) certification meeting Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level II IAW DoD 8570.01-M, Information Assurance (IA) Workforce Improvement Program

  • OCP certification (or higher) in Oracle version 11gR2 (or higher)

U.S. Citizenship required, and ability to maintain a DoD security clearance.

 

Work Locations: Fairfax corporate office; may be remote.
