Description

Alfred Benesch & Company (Benesch) is a multi-disciplined engineering and professional services firm. Benesch is consistently ranked among the top 500 consulting engineering firms in the United States by Engineering News-Record. We have an immediate full-time opportunity for a Party Chief to join our Survey team and can be based out of our Lincoln, Omaha, or Grand Island, NE office. This position will have out of town work on occasion during the work week and possible weekends. This role will be participating in and supervising crews across various survey projects throughout the state of Nebraska.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Field surveying and supervision of various active survey projects
  • Performing construction checking; topographic mapping; and Alta, boundary, and right-of-way surveying
  • Follows proper surveying standards, implements quality control procedures, and ensures compliance is adhered to
  • Provides status updates on work progress and reports any pertinent issues accordingly
  • Other duties assigned by Project Manager

Qualifications:

  • Associate’s Degree or higher in Survey & Geomatics, Survey Technology, or other related surveying program preferred, HS diploma or GED required
  • Minimum 5 years of surveying Party Chief experience preferred
  • Must be willing to travel during the work week and/or possible weekends
  • Must be flexible with changing schedules and workload demands including overtime hours
  • Must be willing to work outdoors in changing weather conditions
  • Software skills in Microstation/Geopak a plus
  • Knowledge of Leica GPS and Leica Total Stations preferred
  • Demonstrated mathematical and analytical skills along with the ability to learn new data collector software
  • Great communication and problem solving skills
  • Good driving record and valid driver’s license
