Description

Alfred Benesch & Company (Benesch) is a multi-disciplined engineering and professional services firm. Benesch is consistently ranked among the top 500 consulting engineering firms in the United States by Engineering News-Record. The Corporate Human Resources team is looking for an experienced Human Resources Intern to work alongside their team this summer out of our Chicago office. The Human Resources Intern will support a wide range of projects related to recruitment, onboarding, and data compliance to help facilitate the smooth and effective completion of the department’s objectives.  

 

Duties & Responsibilities:

In this position, you’ll support our recruiters with summer hiring efforts and our ATS by assisting with data entry and standardization. You’ll shadow and support onboarding and orientation efforts including material preparation, collection and preparation of new hire information, and necessary follow up. You’ll play a role in legal compliance by assisting the team with various data verification, auditing, and training across various functions of the team. Administrative assistance with special projects and initiatives in support of the team is expected.  

 

Qualifications:

You are a current undergraduate or graduate school student with an interest and aptitude to work in Human Resources in a professional services environment. You have a customer service mindset, enjoy assisting others with their needs, and can demonstrate excellent follow up skills. You take pride, ownership, and accountability of your work and have successful experience prioritizing and managing competing tasks. You have solid writing and verbal communication skills as well as analytical and time management skills. You possess superior attention to detail and deliver quality work. Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office products and features is expected, exposure to HR software a plus, preferably with Oracle HCM and Taleo products, is desired.
