Description

Alfred Benesch & Company (Benesch) is a multi-disciplined engineering and professional services firm. Benesch is consistently ranked among the top 500 consulting engineering firms in the United States by Engineering News-Record. We are looking to hire an Administrative Assistant based out of our Chicago office (Corporate Headquarters) who can make immediate and significant contributions to initiatives and processes within our organization. Primary area of focus is administrative support to the Human Resources department to facilitate the smooth and effective completion of daily activities. This is a small team, so partnership and collaboration is critical to success.

 

Duties & Responsibilities:

In this position, you’ll play a key role in supporting the daily activities of the Human Resources department. You’ll serve as the primary point of contact for the department by responding to incoming calls and emails and redirecting to members of the team as appropriate. You’ll support the new hire onboarding and hiring processes by assisting with the assembly and shipment of orientation materials as well as the assignment, tracking, and filing of new hire paperwork. Further aid to these processes would also involve writing new hire announcements and new hire and E-verify reporting. You’ll also perform data entry and audits as necessary throughout our HR systems and e-files in addition to maintenance and updates of company reference materials. Administrative support of special projects and initiatives is expected.  

 

Qualifications:

You have a customer service mindset, enjoy assisting others with their needs, and can demonstrate excellent follow up skills. You take pride, ownership, and accountability of your work and have successful experience managing multiple competing tasks.  You are able to deal with ambiguity and demonstrate strong judgement, critical thinking and evaluation, transferring knowledge and best practices from one situation to the next. You have strong writing and verbal communication skills as well as analytical and time management skills. You possess superior attention to detail and deliver quality work. An Associate’s degree is required with a minimum of 5 years of relevant support experience. Solid knowledge of Microsoft Office products and features, basic HR software skills, preferably with Oracle HCM and Taleo products, is desired.
