Description

Alfred Benesch & Company (Benesch) is a multi-disciplined engineering and environmental services firm. Benesch is consistently ranked among the top 500 consulting engineering firms in the United States by Engineering News-Record. Our Denver, CO office is seeking a mid-level Construction Inspector to provide support to its Construction Group.

 

You are:

An inspector with experience working in the field with contractors. Have experience performing field construction observation for compliance and produce detailed documentation. An enthusiastic team player with excellent coordination and follow-up skills. 

 

You’re good at:

  • Reviewing applicable construction standards, regulations and contract requirements necessary for completion of assigned tasks

  • Coordinating design and layout with applicable code requirements

  • Assisting with design calculations

  • Recording and organizing progress files, email correspondence, design alterations and project statuses

  • Printing, plotting and scanning of various project plans and drawing data 

  • Performing field construction observation for compliance and detailed documentation, sometimes requiring out-of-town travel

 

You have:

  • High school diploma/GED required; Associate's degree or technical diploma is a plus

  • Minimum 3-5 years of inspection experience in the engineering field; construction and civil experience preferred

  • Industry training or certifications are a plus 

  • Knowledge of Windows and Microsoft Office Suite

  • Knowledge of construction methods and fundamentals 

  • Basic understanding of engineering principles & practices, project scheduling & deadlines, and good communication skills

  • Good driving record and valid driver’s license

  • Ability to work outside on foot for extended periods of time

  • Willingness to travel to project sites, sometimes out-of-town
