Description

Alfred Benesch & Company (Benesch)  is a multi-disciplined engineering and environmental services firm. Benesch is consistently ranked among the top 500 consulting engineering firms in the United States by Engineering News-Record. Our  Raleigh or Charlotte, NC  office is looking to hire an experienced  Civil Project Manager  to join their team. 

 

Our Charlotte office is recognized as a leading provider of Land Development and Civil Engineering services for both Public and Private Facilities as well as a wide range of land development projects throughout NC and the Southeast. The candidate will work on managing production teams for a variety of projects throughout NC. 

 

The ideal candidates will have a  minimum of six years  of progressively responsible experience in providing complete project services for public agencies, including DOTs, counties and municipalities.  Candidate will also have expertise in roadway and highway design and project management. This is a project management, engineering and production position, requiring skills and experience in land development design and engineering. The Project Manager will work with team to develop design concepts which are incorporated in the final product. 

 

Duties & Responsibilities include: 

  • Managing assigned projects by providing direct supervision and overall leadership
  • Developing project scope, schedule and budget
  • Identifying resources needed and effectively delegating staff duties and responsibilities
  • Demonstrated ability to utilize accounting and scheduling software for project management
  • Creating and executing project work plans
  • Analyzing accounting reports and project schedule for variances
  • Monitoring work for adherence to project scope and identifying out of scope actions
  • Resolving scope, schedule and budget discrepancies with Division Manager and client
  • Preparing and submitting appropriate project reports to Division Manager
  • Participating in contract negotiations
  • Completing the contract setup process
  • Preparing and processing project amendments as required
  • Maintaining staffing projections and coordinating needs with Division Manager 
  • Reviewing and verifying invoices and direct expense reports for accuracy and preparing support information required for contract compliance
  • Following-up with client on collection of invoices as directed by Division Manager
  • Assuming ownership of the financial aspects of the projects
  • Performing project close-out

 

Required Qualifications include: 

  • Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering  or related discipline required
  • Minimum of 6 years of progressively responsible transportation experience with public agencies, including DOTs, counties, and municipalities
  • Licensed P.E. in North Carolina
  • Excellent communication and client relation skills including business development
  • Strong organization and leadership skills with a track record for adhering to design budgets and schedules
  • Progressive experience with developing plans and specifications utilizing Microstation, proficient in AutoCAD and Civil 3D software.
  • Ability to perform complex analysis and design
  • Ability to assemble a complete design package for assigned elements or projects
  • Ability to manage and work effectively in a team environment
