Description

Alfred Benesch & Company (Benesch) is a multi-disciplined engineering and professional services firm has an immediate opportunity for a Senior Structural Bridge Engineer / Bridge Inspection Team Leader in our Boston, MA Office. Benesch is a nationally recognized professional services firm that offers transportation planning and engineering services and is consistently ranked among the top 500 consulting firms in the country by Engineering News Record.

 

Duties & Responsibilities include:

  • Provides technical expertise on all project aspects associated with conceptual engineering and detailed engineering designs
  • Planning, modeling and design of conventional and complex bridge projects
  • Team Leader on Bridge Inspection assignments
  • Completeness and accuracy of design team work
  • Project management and coordination with administrative operations

 

Qualifications include:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering required
  • Advanced degree in Structural Engineering preferred
  • Massachusetts PE required or ability to obtain within one year
  • 5 to 10 years of progressively responsible bridge design and/or bridge inspection experience
  • FHWA approved bridge inspection training course, or refresher within past 5 years
  • Excellent communication skills in dealing with clients, peers, consultants and contractors.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Autocad Civil 3D required
  • Experience with MassDOT Autocad Civl 3D templates preferred
  • Experience with structural design software such as Virtis, MDX, Conspan, Bars, Midas, Staad, etc.
