Position Title: Junior Technical Analyst

Location: Missoula, Montana 

Travel: 10%  

FLSA: Exempt 

Employment Status: Full-Time Regular    


Role Purpose:

A Washington Corporations Junior Business Analyst acts as a top-level resource for ERP systems, Time and Labor systems, Human Capital Management systems including related data and business processes within the Washington Companies.

This role balances daily functional and technical support of enterprise software systems.  Functions include Integrating software, supporting implementation projects, configuring data and auditing data for various business deadlines. The role is heavily centered around understanding, troubleshooting, and documenting the functional and technical processes surrounding enterprise data.

This role exists to bridge the gap between The Washington Companies’ technical teams, external vendors, end users, and key stakeholders.  A successful Technical Analyst will have a wholistic and comprehensive understanding of The Washington Companies’ missions, products, processes, data, and users and will be able to clearly communicate with a wide variety of technical and non-technical people.

This role primarily supports HR and Payroll users interacting with enterprise software but will also be called upon to support other areas as needed.   No H1B Visa or sponsorship.


Role Expectations & Success:

The Junior Technical Analyst is a key member of the IT Enterprise Applications shared services team.  As a part of The Washington Corporation’s IT department, critical thinking, adaptability, teamwork, strong communication, and technical skills are keys traits for successful team members.

Key service expectations include but aren’t limited to: 

  1. Daily functional support of JD Edwards Enterprise One Payroll, HR modules, Time and Labor Systems, Human Capital Management Systems and other Enterprise software.
  2. A revolving project schedule of upgrades, implementations, and customizations of enterprise systems for all Washington Companies.
  3. Contributions to the enterprise wide knowledge base, both internal and external.
  4. Handling and processing support tickets assigned.
  5. Support for yearly payroll and HR processes for both the United States and Canada. i.e. year end reconciliations, government reporting, employee and employer tax form preparation, and internal/external auditing.
  6. Empowering users to be confident and responsible for maintaining their data and following standard, best practice business processes.
  7. Navigating complex organizations, competing interests, and challenging requirements.
  8. Researching new issues and providing accurate timely resolutions.
  9. Designing and executing detailed and thorough software tests.


Minimum Role Requirements: Experience, Capabilities & Educational Expertise

  1. Experience: 2 years of related experience as a technical analyst or internal support role.   
  2. Ability to listen to understand, foster trust with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  3. Capacity to quickly learn and support complex and customized software.
  4. Ability to travel internationally.
  5. Strong interpersonal skills and cross functional communication.


Preferred Role Requirements: Experience, Capabilities & Educational Expertise:

  1. Familiar with JDE Edwards Enterprise One, preferably HR and Payroll modules.
  2. Experience configuring and supporting HR and HCM systems.
  3. Business intelligence and analysis tools (SAP Business Objects, MS SQL).
  4. Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Accounting, Information Systems or related field.
