Travel:                               10% regular travel

Role Purpose:

This is a full-time position and is part of a talented development and design team working with the Washington Companies.  As a Microsoft SharePoint Analyst, you are responsible for supporting the company’s SharePoint presence, as well as managing and designing new portal solutions using the Microsoft SharePoint Platform across the Washington Companies; unifying the business and technology needs.

Our team is critical to our success, and you will need to be able to participate in a free exchange of ideas and give and receive creative feedback to be an effective member of this team. Additionally, the role requires you to handle varying types of requests. Some will require quick turnaround while others will allow for deeper creative emersion.  Understanding what level of design to apply to different requests, based on need and impact, will be a critical part of day-to-day prioritization. 

You must have exceptional multitasking skills, high attention to detail, the ability to work quickly and efficiently, and a passion for learning new trends, techniques, and shortcuts.  We have a mixed-media environment and you will need the drive and talent to produce exceptional work.

Role Expectations & Success:

Analyst Skills

  • Ability to investigate new SharePoint-related technologies and serving as a technical resource in helping to define and implement SharePoint strategy in the content management, collaboration and workflow space.
  • Ability to training and supporting business users in their day to day SharePoint needs.
  • Provide stellar end-user support by achieving impeccable service levels and maintaining strong relationships through incident resolution, administration functions such as security changes and batch uploads, request prioritization and delivery, system user training, and process change management.

Technical Skills

  • Strong hands-on experience with SharePoint features (e.g., SharePoint security, web parts, site collections, content deployment, Excel Services, Business Data Catalog, site columns, content types, native and custom workflows, advanced search);
  • Strong knowledge of HTML and JavaScript to create and extend custom functionality in web parts, pages and visualizations.

Minimum Role Requirements: Experience, Capabilities & Educational Expertise

  • Business Analysis – facilitating the business and technology needs for SharePoint across the Washington Companies, including delivering value to various departments by identifying their needs.
  • Project Management – managing all the moving pieces, timelines, and resources for multiple projects across the Washington Companies.
  • Teamwork – the ability to work with different customers and internal and external creative team members and that will help us deliver our product. 
  • Customer Management - establish effective working relationships with employees of the Washington Companies and use good judgment in what and how to communicate with them when responding to their needs as they arise.
  • SharePoint Development – ability to work with SharePoint development platforms including the world of workflows, security, content deployment, coded and developed applications and working with integrations/plugins.
  • Web Design – understanding and skills of JavaScript, JQuery, HTML and CSS

 

Preferred Role Requirements: Experience, Capabilities & Educational Expertise:

Education and Experience

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience with SharePoint and relevant technologies.
  • 2+ years of business analysis experience
  • Knowledge of SharePoint Infrastructure and demonstrated systems configuration, maintenance and ownership of environment/platform upgrades.

 

Job Requirements:

This is a salaried position with some flexibility in hours once on-call and support coverage schedules are worked out with the team.  This role will require periodic after-hours work (including evenings, weekends and holidays) to conduct testing, “go-live” support, maintenance, emergency outage or disaster recovery support.  Additionally, you will share on-call responsibilities for evenings, holidays and weekends with your team as directed by management.

The position requires periodic travel to meet and work with our customers, vendors, and partners in the United States, Canada and possibly abroad. A passport for international travel must be maintained during your employment and candidate must be able to travel to foreign countries.
