Rudolph and Sletten is looking for a Diversity Outreach Specialist to assist in the development, implementation, and monitoring of programs and processes that promote and sustain diversity, equity and respect throughout the organization. This position reports to the Senior Vice President of Preconstruction or other assigned supervisor.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Assists all internal departments in establishing and maintaining programs to promote and sustain diversity, equity and respect.
Advises departments regarding the expectations of proper documentation of “Good Faith Effort” in all procurement activities. Verifies the compliance and security of the “Good Faith Effort” documentation process.
Updates the diversity initiative with an annual strategic plan for each project.
Interfaces with other industry-related persons and agencies to achieve the most current and strategic diversity programs.
Develops ethnicity tracking and reporting methods and processes for compliance with Disadvantaged/Minority & Women Owned Business Enterprises (M/W/DBE) organization and campaigns.
Maintains a subcontractor and supplier databases to track diversity statistics and qualifications.
Coordinates interviews and site visits as required to facilitate the verification and capabilities of all subcontractors.
Maximizes diversity and M/W/DBE qualification through traditional and non-traditional contracting activities.
Develops workshop activities and mentoring programs for subcontractors in various stages of procurement.
Ensures proper presentation of Rudolph and Sletten’s policy, expectations, and compliance of M/W/DBE participation for all pre-bid and pre-award meetings.
Maintains relationships and affiliations with diversity related associations such as the National Association of Minority Contractors of America (NMAC), Minority Supplier Development Council (MSDC), area minority chambers of commerce and others.
Coordinates timely advertisement, as appropriate, for specific needs for goods and services in publications specifically serving the M/W/DBE business communities.
Serves as an adviser to employee recruitment representatives to achieve internal diversity goals.
Occasional travel to satellite offices, trade shows, or special events.
Demonstrates current knowledge of governmental regulations and laws pertaining to SBE, MBE, WBE and DBE businesses.
Demonstrates advanced knowledge of marketing strategies necessary to establish, promote and build a subcontractor/vendor diversity program while maintaining client relationships.
Possesses the ability to write concise analytical reports.
Performs all other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations to include health, safety, and welfare as appropriate.

Computer Equipment and Software
Advanced skill level with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
Database management and development experience
Website management experience a plus
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in business, diversity development, or related field required. Master’s degree a plus.
Five to eight years’ experience in diversity development or equivalent experience.
Construction or other related industry (A/E/C) strongly preferred.
