SUMMARY:
The Associate Buyer will be responsible for managing specific categories under the supervision and leadership of the buyer.  This position will be based in Huntington Beach and will report to a Buyer.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Accessories, Women’s Footwear and Billabong Girls
  • Creating assortment plans to meet seasonal sales and margin targets
  • OTB and Inventory Management
  • Establish vendor and category contribution plans
  • Evaluate selling and reporting weekly/monthly to leadership
  • Order creation and entry
  • SKU Maintenance
  • Manage transfer and markdown files for designated categories
  • Work cross functionally with planning, allocation, visual merchandising, marketing, and store teams
  • Work with Buyer on career development and growth plan
  • Additional tasks as needed

 

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE/SKILLS/EDUCATION:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office with emphasis on Excel and PowerPoint
  • Strong Retail Math skills
  • Ability to analyze and generate accurate sales, turn, and margin reports
  • Detail oriented and organized
  • Ability to work cross functionally in a fast-paced environment – flexible as day to day may change
  • Strong time management skills with a sense of urgency
  • Trend forecasting and Industry knowledge
  • Ability to learn internal business systems
  • Strong verbal and communication skills

 

 PREFERRED EXPERIENCE/SKILLS:

  • 3+ years as an Assistant Buyer
  • Successfully managed a category in previous experience – “at once” businesses a plus
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree or higher
