Working within our houses, you will be responsible for providing safe, stable accommodation to homeless children & young people aged between 12 and 20 years. Through understanding the trauma young people face, you will mentor our youth in care through role modelling positive behaviour and engages with them to develop their social and living skills. You will also manage any challenging behaviours that may arise and participate in the implementation of certain aspects relating to the young person’s goals and case plan.
As an Accommodation Support Worker you will be required to work various hours including both sleepovers and support shifts. You may be asked to transport young people from time to time as well as complete domestic duties such as a chore roster, menu planning, cooking, and cleaning and property maintenance. As part of this role you must maintain up to date records and documentation in line with policy and legislative framework.
