Hawkins Equipment Group supplies chemical feed equipment to accurately and safely handle the products Hawkins provides through both our Industrial and Water Treatment Groups. Some of the equipment Hawkins supplies includes equipment used in treating municipal and industrial wastewater, industrial process water, and non-residential swimming pool water. Hawkins Equipment Group also provides handling, monitoring and storage equipment to enhance your treatment process. The Equipment Group’s Project Managers work with engineers and end users to provide the safest, most economical means of chemical applications.
We are seeking a Manager for the Equipment Group to be based in our Roseville, MN headquarters location.
This is a sales-driven role which will establish, manage and achieve department sales objectives and manage a midsize staff of Project Managers who oversee equipment sales for water and wastewater projects and collaborate with Branch Managers to increase sales. This role will also work closely with building and maintaining relationships with customers and suppliers.
Establish sales and profit goals for Equipment Group; review and revise business processes to increase efficiency and productivity and reduce operating expenses.
Work with Branch Managers to establish sales objectives leading to increased sales and profit.
Develop and maintain relationships with vendors and client engineers, and attend trade shows, to increase industry knowledge and identify new sales opportunities.
Regularly call on local and out-of-state client engineering firms to create customer satisfaction and identify new sales opportunities.
Establish Water Treatment Group-Equipment learning objectives and instructional methodologies to create an educated sales force on new and existing equipment. Organize and facilitate training sessions for Route Sales Reps and Branch Managers on new and existing equipment.
Evaluate new equipment or product lines to help identify new business opportunities and customer solutions.
Hold regular performance reviews/discussions with Project Managers to improve/manage job performance and create knowledgeable, engaged and productive employees.
5+ year’s successful equipment sales experience, with a minimum of 3 years in the water treatment or related industry (municipal, industrial, equipment and chemical feed)
5 to 8 years of managing midsized teams
Ability to integrate multiple organizational aspects including, engineers, project managers, customer service and marketing
Mechanical aptitude and basic electrical knowledge.
Experience in and success with sales forecasting, annual business planning, competitive awareness and evaluation, people and organizational development.
Strong written, verbal, analytical and interpersonal skills
Exceptional customer service focus, including attention to producing quality results
Self-directed and motivated with a passion for producing high quality work
Problem solving abilities
Demonstrated ability to coordinate a high level of activity under a variety of conditions
Preferred degree in Marketing/Management/Business or related with other sales training
Ability to travel at least 25% and up to 40%
