Hawkins is looking for an Electrical Instrumentation and Controls Engineer to work on new projects and maintenance reliability of EIC systems within multiple chemical processing facilities.
Design, specify, program, start, validate, monitor, and troubleshoot EIC systems for new and existing facilities including electrical schematics, panel layout, and site acceptance testing (SAT).
Ensure that processes, construction, installation, PLC/HMI programming, and operational requirements meet specifications, codes, and end-user expectations.
Value engineering and cost estimating for all electrical systems within company facilities.
Work cross-functionally with other departments and across other engineering disciplines to design industrial processes, motor controls, instrumentation, and power systems that meet business requirements.
Program, troubleshoot, and configure PLC/HMI control systems and other process instrumentation.
Develop, communicate, educate, and train hourly technicians and managers on processes, equipment, and standards as needed.
Problem-solve process engineering issues and design systems to eliminate issues from both commissioning and maintenance perspectives.
Successfully and cost-effectively manage multiple projects at any given time.
Manage 3rd party contractors and firms from a project management standpoint on multiple projects.
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or equivalent experience.
Minimum of 5+ years of engineering experience.
Ability to travel overnight based on project need.
Ability to work non-traditional hours based on facility needs for commissioning and troubleshooting work including weekends.
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products, including Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Visio.
Proficiency in reading and understanding blueprints/schematics.
Minimum of 3+ year of experience developing and interpreting Ladder/Logic Diagrams using RSLogix and FactoryTalk View.
Minimum of 3+ years of experience developing and interpreting P&IDs and PFDs.
Experience in designing panels and electrical troubleshooting.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Demonstrated problem solving ability with root cause analysis.
Knowledge of various design and regulatory codes such as: OSHA, NFPA, NEC, UL, API, EPA, FDA.
Possess a valid Master Electrician License in Minnesota or has the ability to obtain one.
Minimum of 1+ year of experience with Inductive Automation Ignition software.
Minimum of 1+ year of experience with AutoCAD.
Minimum of 1+ year of experience in a chemical processing environment.
