Hawkins is looking for a Product Safety & Quality Director based out of our Roseville, MN headquarters.  The Quality Director is responsible for development, implementation, communication, and maintenance of the Hawkins’ Quality Management System (HQMS) and policies.  This individual is responsible for all facets of product safety and quality throughout the supply chain, including internal and external quality, to ensure company and customer requirements are met or exceeded.



Key Responsibilities


  • Partner with management team in building and sustaining a strong Quality organization, through development of corporate strategic initiatives related to product safety and quality.
  • Manage, enhance and optimize the HQMS and associated strategy (including ISO, FSMA, SQF, NACD, IPEC).
  • Conduct annual Management Review of the Quality System.
  • Ensure core quality processes and systems are operating effectively to support the needs of the customers and the business.
  • Manage the Quality department, including development of budget, managing expenses, providing day-to-day direction and feedback to staff members, effective delivery of coaching and career development.
  • Ensure proper communication of changes to requirements or processes related to the QMS.
  • Coordinate and facilitate resolution of quality concerns and issues, through root cause analysis and corrective action on quality issues.
  • Establish reporting and quality metrics for the organization.
  • Communicate the Quality strategy and key programs to the organization, including promotion of these programs with employees, suppliers, and customers.
  • Manage internal and external product safety and quality audit program, and address non-conformities.
  • Act as the key focal and site leader during a quality crisis, and deploy quality crisis tools to manage any incidents.





  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field with a minimum of 10 years of directly related experience
  • Quality Management experience, including experience with FSMA, SQF, ISO, and/or IPEC
  • Demonstrated experience and knowledge to lead the development of a quality management system
  • Experience with managing the development and delivery of training programs
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong interpersonal skills including the ability to influence across departments, and superior organizational abilities
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office
