The Information Architect (IA)/Translation Management lead is responsible for the vision and execution of product documentation and translation for Graco. This role seeks to improve the customer experience for Graco’s end-user customers, channel partners and internal content teams by improving content creation, publishing and governance. The role also drives customer experience through improvements to translations quality and efficiency. By reducing user effort and improving content effectiveness, you will help Graco to deliver greater value to our customers, reducing costs and decreasing time-to-market with business-critical content.

Champion the transition to DITA-based, structured, and reusable content
Oversee ongoing maintenance and refinement of Graco’s DITA implementation, tools, and processes including content models, templates, user guidelines and training materials
Lead training sessions with writers and illustrators on best practices for content management systems and DITA
Develop and maintain templates, taxonomies, style sheets and metadata schemas
Collaborate with the legal, safety and engineering teams to develop and maintain content guidelines and procedures
Research industry trends and best practices to drive process innovation
Troubleshoot, address and escalate technical issues for internal stakeholders
Develop the roadmap for future content capabilities
Own the translations management system (TMS) and support ongoing translation projects
Develop and lead training programs for users of the translation management system
Act as the liaison between internal translation clients and external Language Service Providers
Manage relationships with external partners, software vendors and Language Service Providers
Collect, monitor and report on terminology and system metrics
Identify and implement quality initiatives through content governance, terminology glossaries and translation memories
Bachelors Degree in Technical Writing, Information Management, Content Management or equivalent discipline or equivalent work experience
5 plus years experience with product documentation or other applicable work experience
Experience working with translations memories (TM) and terminology glossaries
Experience working in a global organization with regional stakeholders
Strong Project Management skills (project assessment, delivery scheduling, document development, proposal writing, team leading responsibilities)
