The MS SQL DBA must be able to efficiently investigate complex database issues and provide solutions. They must have the ability to effectively interface with management, database team members, software developers, and customers efficiently investigate complex database issues, and provide solutions. The candidate will need to handle installations, upgrades, backups, and configuration.   


  • Perform SQL database maintenance, monitoring, and tuning activities.
  • Work with Denovo and client application owners to monitor and troubleshoot application and database performance.
  • Work with Data Architect to further define, build, and maintain the data warehouse and ETL strategy.
  • Provide emergency and urgent support as required by the business and/or application owner to ensure the availability and integrity of the application and data.
  • Work with the application owners, on an as-requested basis, to plan for and provide guidance on database virtualization and software upgrade planning.
  • Work with remote DBA support resources to maintain 24x7 uptime requirement.
  • Monitor and maintain database back-up and disaster recovery procedures.
  • Maintain and audit database-level security.
  • Evaluate, test, and deploy new database patches and upgrades.
  • Configure and maintain database administration tools for monitoring performance and change management.


  • Four-year degree in Computer Science or related field. 
  • At least 10 years of Database Administration experience. 
  • Must have strong experience with TSQL, Powershell, Windows OS; experience with data warehouse and ETL; basic networking skills. 
  • Professional certification as appropriate. 
  • Experience in high volume and large database environments desired.
  • Must be located and authorized to work in the United States.
  • Experience working with MS SQL Server 2008 R2 – 2016
  • Experience with Always-On Availability Groups is a plus
