S3 Inc. is seeking qualified applicants for an Information Assurance Engineer. The Information Assurance Engineer is responsible for leading and managing the implementation of required network security to properly safeguard all computer systems, network, and data for the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) Advanced Research Center (ARC) in Huntsville, AL. The Information Assurance Engineer will assess the security risks of IT systems, network, and software applications and document them in formal security and risk assessment and supporting artifacts associated with the MDA Designated Accrediting authority and Certification Authority process.  The Information Assurance Engineer will research, design, and present emerging technology recommendations to improve the overall network efficiencies and capabilities across the program. The Information Assurance Engineer drives cyber security strategy and provides insight into all policy and technical decisions.  The Information Assurance Engineer oversees the implementation of DoDD 8530.1, DoDD 8500.2, DoDI 8510.1, DoDI 8510.01, Risk Management Framework, and other applicable NIST and CNSS IA directives, instructions, guidelines to include interfacing with the MDA Information Assurance management and case managers. The Information Assurance Engineer must be a self-starter capable of multitasking and efficiently managing their time in a fast-paced environment with demanding deadlines while requiring minimal levels of supervision. Additionally, the successful candidate must possess highly effective written, verbal, analytical, project management, organizational, and customer service skills that will assist them in identifying solutions to complex compliance and security problems.

• Master of Science in computer science, engineering, mathematics, or related field and IA certification IAW DoD Instruction 8570.01M.IA certification in accordance with DoD Instruction 8570.01M.
• Experience monitoring and analyzing network security to detect and resolve issues.
• Experience in leading network projects, including the installation of new network hardware or software and network configuration and design.
• Experience in executing leadership and managerial duties in a production environment (i.e. performance development, career coaching, mentoring, training, resource management, budget management, etc.).
• Proficiency in the use of Unix, Linux, Windows, Python, Visual Basic, and Bash.
• Experience with the design of IT systems, networks and software applications.
• Experience with the MDA Designated Accrediting Authority and Certification Authority process.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including the capability to create high quality Powerpoint presentations and Microsoft Word documents for formal delivery to the customer.
• Duties may require being on call periodically and working outside of normal working hours (evenings and weekends)
• Active TOP SECRET security clearance required.
