Product Analyst

As a Product Analyst, you will partner cross-functionally with product and business teams to (1) identify and report on core metrics used to make decisions, (2) define and solve tough business problems and (3) derive insights that have a meaningful impact. You will work across all business functions, using data to derive strategic insight, communicate the insight with business leaders, and assist in driving long-term growth. You will be a member of highly collaborative team that values personal growth and education, and offers team-led courses and sessions in SQL, scripting, and advanced analytics.

In this role, you will work with our product development teams touching the core part of the user experience. This team works with key people across engineering, product, marketing, sales, and operations to ensure that homeowners are connected with the most qualified pros. If you are a fast learner with the ability to thrive in a high-speed, ambiguous environment, using data to build frameworks where none exist, this might be the role for you.

What You Will Do

  • Partner with product managers to define and report on KPIs
  • Use data to analyze opportunities and risks to the business
  • Collaborate with data engineers and product teams to ensure that data is being captured accurately and efficiently within the data warehouse
  • Work with leaders to identify inefficiencies within the marketplace and opportunities to improve customer satisfaction
  • Partner with product and engineering teams to drive understanding of existing and new product usage, and measure product stability

What You Bring

  • Bachelors degree with 2+ years of experience or graduate degree with some experience within related field and industry
  • 2+ years of relevant experience in an analytical, data and/or business roles
  • Experience querying databases, researching, analyzing and summarizing data in a business environment
  • Strong SQL or scripting skills and ability to use Excel to do further analysis
  • Strong creative problem-solving skills, business insight, and customer focus
  • Strong interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to translate technical data into actionable insight to general audiences
  • Able to work cross-functionally and to manage multiple competing tasks in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong data visualization skills preferred
  • Competency in at least one scripting language (R, Python, etc.) preferred
  • Experience working with financial data or accounting preferred
  • Experience solving ambiguous problems using data and making it easy for the business to take action based on practical business insight preferred
