Release Manager

Position Summary

The Release Manager works in a key role that is primarily focused on ensuring we release with expedience and quality through the implementation of lightweight processes, identification & remediation of single points of failure, clear visibility into upcoming changes & their contents, and generally un-quagmiring quagmires while keeping a level head and partnering with the Development, Test, and Security teams to do the right thing for our customers.

What You Will Do

  • Negotiate, plan, schedule, coordinate and facilitate software releases, manage risks and resolve issues related to release plan and implementation.

  • Implement and facilitate release and change management workflows for the progression of code in the development, staging, beta, and production environments.

  • Maintain, and communicate the Release Calendar by working closely with internal key partners and external vendors.

  • Measure and monitor progress to ensure software releases are delivered on time and that they meet or exceed expectations.

  • Facilitate Release Readiness reviews, Milestone Reviews, and Go/No-Go decisions.

  • Lead Deployment planning meetings and work with Development, Test, Security, and DevOps teams to capture any risks.

  • Coordinate and lead the Go-Live activities including the execution of the Deployment Plans and checklists.

  • Maintain release documentation and manage key information such as build and release procedures, dependencies, and notification lists.

 

What You Will Bring

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a software development environment preferred

  • 5+ years of experience working in Agile Scrum software development environment.

  • 2+ years of experience in as a technical project management or game producer preferred

  • Experience with SCM tools (such as Github, Jira, Confluence)
