Summary of the role
 The Data Platform Engineer will focus on building & maintaining our cloud-based data warehouse platform that enables the business to make data-driven decisions and partnering with our development teams to optimize our production databases, schemas, and indexes to be highly performant and supportable.
 
What You Will Do
  • Driving design of schemas, data lake, and data warehouse solutions in collaboration with stakeholders.
  • Assist developers with complex query tuning, schema refinement, and index management.
  • Partnering with Development and Test teams to implement automation & self-service pipelines.
  • Designing for data integrity & security through all environments as well as the overall data lifecycle.
  • Interface with other technology teams to extract, transform, and load data from a wide variety of data sources into our BI tools.
 
What You Will Bring 
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, system analysis or a related field preferred, or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of relevant experience in design & optimization of relational and non-relational databases.
  • Experience with operating at scale MySQL, Postgres, Dynamo, Hive, or Hadoop.
  • 2+ years of experience in SQL/BI architecture using Tableau or Looker and the AWS Stack (S3, Redshift, RDS, MySQL, Dynamo, Cloudformation, etc).
  • Strong verbal/written communication, documentation, and data presentation skills.
