Industrial Warehouse Technician II

Location: NC - Sanford
Department: 4100 - Warehouse and Other Facility Operations


Main activity will involve drum operations with additional responsibilities in shipping, receiving, inventory control, and forklift operations

Job Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for pumping, emptying, and washing drums
  • Handle drum waste and have the ability to recognize what products in containers could be a safety or environmental issue
  • Ability to drive a variety of industrial equipment and machinery, to include commercial vacuum truck
  • Operate and maintain a high temperature pressure washer
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient warehouse
  • Responsible for drum, tote, and bin management, including unloading, organizing, documenting, and processing
  • Inventory control; maintain and report designated minimum and maximum inventory levels for reconditioned drums, oil filter bins, packaged antifreeze products, parts washer solvents, parts washer units, absorbent goods, PPE, and other designated assets stored within the warehouse
  • Shipping and receiving: receive, inspect, organize, and distribute inbounds goods, report shortages and damage immediately.  Prepare and load outbound shipments including drums, totes, bins, packaged antifreeze, parts washer solvent, parts washers, absorbent goods and PPE
  • Operate and maintain filter crushing equipment and bulk unloading equipment                 
  • Unload bulk filter collection trucks/load processed filters
  • Responsible for managing used oil generated from crushing operations
  • Process all drummed used filters
  • Other duties as assigned by the supervisor

Skills, Experience, and/or Education Required:

  • Twelve months of previous warehouse experience or equipment operations required
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Exceptional organizational skills
  • HazWoper training a plus
  • HazMat training a plus
  • Ability to work flexible hours and/or shifts including nights, weekends and holidays
  • Ability to climb stairs and ladders
  • Ability to stand, reach above and below shoulders, squat, bend, and kneel as necessary to perform the job
  • Ability to understand and follow safety rules and operating instructions
  • Ability to be fitted for and work wearing full face respirator
  • Ability to lift and carry 50lbs. and stand for long periods of time in heavy industrial environment
  • Ability to work in extreme weather conditions
  • Ability to work in extremely physically demanding environment
  • Good communication skills, oral and written
