We are looking for Investigators to join our Loss Prevention team across multiple locations in the GTA:

Bloor (50 Bloor Street W.)

Square One (100 City Centre Drive)

Yorkdale (3401 Dufferin Street)

The Investigator, Loss Prevention provides front line service to protect the company from fraud, internal and external loss and to provide a safe and secure environment for associates and customers.  The Investigator is responsible for proactively addressing deficiencies to store operating procedures and policies and providing feedback to the Supervisor, Loss Prevention.  The Investigator educates store associates on store policies and emergency procedures as well as performing audits and investigations to support overall store compliance to business controls.


Specific responsibilities include (but are not limited to) the following:

  • Proactively provide deterrence and prevent merchandise loss using all available solutions
  • Maintain a presence on the sales floor to assist internal and external customers
  • Respond to emergencies in a timely manner and provide appropriate follow up reporting in a timely manner
  • Conduct assigned audits to ensure compliance to all operating procedures and policies
  • Actively assist in providing recommendations to elevate the success of the Store Audit Program
  • Support Operations and Sales teams with inventory counts, conducting cycle counts on high loss departments and finding resolution to inventory discrepancies
  • Support all Shrink Action Plans to assist the store in achieving its financial targets
  • Support investigations of paperwork errors to reduce inventory discrepancies and improve operational efficiencies
  • Complete all assigned monthly  training to all store associates  and work with Supervisor to monitor for knowledge retention and subsequent improvement of execution of trained topics
  • Assist with onboard training of all new hires
  • First respondent for all first aid incidents. Will provide necessary treatment, complete required paperwork and inform store Incident management team of incident
  • Champion a workplace that provides a safe work environment to customers and associates
  • Conduct internal investigations as required with confidentiality, under the supervision and guidance of LP Leadership
  • Analyze all transactional exception reporting, provide timely follow up and documentation on all findings to direct supervisor and enter all incidents into case management software
  • Performs other duties as assigned


The ideal candidate:

  • College Degree
  • 2-3 years’ experience in a similar capacity
  • WZ interview techniques or other interviewing/interrogation training
  • Previous experience in a retail environment
  • Standard first aid, CPR OPA Level II
  • Maintain provincial guard license
