TITLE:  Shop Manager – Max Mara Canada Concession Shop

 

REPORTS TO: Canada Regional Manager

 

OVERALL DUTIES:

Take a leadership role in a Max Mara shop. Increase Max Mara brand presence, drive store sales, full price sell through, and build clientele. Train and manage staff within shop.  Responsible for daily operations, inventory and expense control. Oversee selling and merchandising of product in the Max Mara Concession shop. Maintain Max Mara shop in accordance with corporate boutique standards. Maintain close relationships in store with sales associates, managers, personal shopping, and the store executive team to promote product, keep informed about store issues, provide support, and gain insight regarding business growth.

 

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage and educate sales associates on a constant basis. Take leadership role in motivating them to create interest and excitement about the product. Keep them informed of sales figures, product sales performance and sales goal analysis.
  • Closely monitor sales of our product and ensure we are keeping pace with other vendors.
  • Promote store sales, interact and assist with customers.
  • Enhance sales by reinforcing the clientele process, focus on repeat business, multiple selling and increasing Units Per Transaction.
  • Conduct product knowledge seminars both within the department and storewide to motivate and influence associates to sell our product. Distribute selling tools and educate store personnel about how they can be used to facilitate sales.
  • Implement contests/incentives as needed to maintain/increase business trend.
  • Ensure that all floor moves and merchandising efforts reflect the direction and image of Max Mara.
  • In between floor moves, as additional merchandise arrives, utilize merchandising book to keep flow of floor in accordance with the direction and standards created in Italy.
  • Update merchandising when popular styles are sold, reposition and add prominence to slow sellers.
  • Create innovative and thematic displays that convey the excitement and message for each theme in the collection.
  • Partner with Holt Renfrew’s in-store visual team. Make sure that mannequins displayed in the store are dressed accordingly. Stay informed of Holt Renfrew’s window schedule. Develop strategy to have Max Mara showcased as much as possible.
  • Oversee maintenance of stockroom for quick and easy access and to ensure that ticketing issues, damages, markdowns, merchandise holds, and RTV’s are processed accurately.
  • Keep Max Mara New York City corporate office informed of all store issues.
  • Provide weekly feedback regarding current sales status of the product, fit issues, best and worst sellers, size outs, customer requests, competition, and product quality.
  • Partner with Holt Renfrew’s PR department to involve Max Mara in store events and promotions.

 

REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills
  • Able to work independently as well as collaboratively
  • Product experience in luxury or high-end retail is strongly preferred
  • Enjoys meeting and interacting with customers
  • Proficient computer skills
  • Energy, attention to detail, initiative, and enthusiasm are required
