The Manager, Marketing Procurement is responsible for the procurement of all marketing services spend. 

The Manager, Marketing Procurement will create opportunity assessments to identify and develop sourcing and spend management strategies to deliver cost savings across the company. The Manager will lead and manage end-to-end sourcing projects supporting Marketing services, build effective strategic relationships with internal stakeholders, work with cross-functional business partners on price negotiations, supplier management/risk mitigation to achieve optimal contracts.


Specific responsibilities include (but are not limited to) the following:

  • Build effective, strategic relationships with internal stakeholders, external supplies, agencies and colleagues to influence change
  • Perform market analysis, benchmark analysis and spend analysis for focuses categories
  • Development, evaluation, and presentation of business case and cost/benefit analysis to stakeholders
  • Development and execution of category sourcing strategies within Marketing
  • Facilitation of supplier selection and the negotiation process
  • Leverage industry associations, peers and stakeholders to identify best practices for strategic sourcing and supplier management
  • Perform savings tracking and report realized savings on a continuous basis
  • In conjunction with internal stakeholders, identify, select and manage suppliers who have the capacity and capability to meet the needs of the business
  • Monitor supplier performance and manage supplier relationship for key suppliers across multiple business units
  • Assist in, and facilitates, negotiations, in conjunction with the business owners to establish contract terms and conditions
  • Conduct all phases in the development of complex contracts to include drafting RFP creation, Statements of Work, and contract evaluation and negotiations
  • Review and approve contracts and SOWs in accordance to company terms and conditions
  • Ability to interpret and utilize key financial data; can tell a story with data
  • Interact with Legal and other company departments to analyze risks associated with agreements and develop language to minimize exposure whenever needed
  • Drive Supplier review meetings with key suppliers and evaluate performance
  • Monitor compliance, measure vendor performance and initiate corrective actions in the event of missed expectations
  • Comply with all Health & Safety policies and requirements


The ideal candidate:

  • Post-secondary degree in a related field or equivalent experience
  • 5-7 years of post-university experience as a sourcing and procurement professional with focus on Marketing spend/vendor relationships
  • 5-7 years of experience assisting in, or leading, the development and management of sourcing strategies
  • Track record of increasing responsibility for Marketing vendor management initiatives, including but not limited to the execution of sourcing events (RFP, RFI, etc)
  • Demonstrated contract and agreement negotiation experience, including development of negotiating plans and strategies
  • Experience negotiating/contracting with large suppliers such as creative and media agencies a plus
  • Ability to learn and become subject matter expert quickly
  • Demonstrated leadership and influencing skills with the ability to get things done
  • Strong relationship management skills and ability to influence at a mid-to-senior management level both internally and externally 
  • Excellent interpersonal skills; a team player who is able to act as both a leader and an individual contributor as required
  • Confident and effective communication (written & verbal) and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent planning and prioritization skills with the ability to quickly adapt to change
  • Highly service-oriented with exceptional organizational and follow up skills
  • Passionate about fashion and luxury retailing
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
