Engineer-III or IV, Substation Testing (South Georgia)


Description

Engineer-III, Test Engineer: Field engineer the installation, routine maintenance testing, and commission testing of the protection and control functions of equipment in the corporation’s distribution substation facilities; including transformer bank/bus differential, overcurrent, and underfrequency schemes. Troubleshoot and repair of electromechanical and solid-state microprocessor relays.

Education: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering. 

Experience: Zero to four years of substation test experience.

Engineer-IV, Substation Testing - Field engineer the installation, routine maintenance testing, and commission testing of the protection and control functions of equipment in the corporation’s transmission and distribution substation facilities; including transformer bank/bus differential, overcurrent, underfrequency, and reclosing schemes, radial transmission line protection schemes, and capacitor bank schemes.  Provide technical support utilizing the application of engineering principles for the troubleshooting and repair of the protection and control equipment.

Education: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.

Experience: Engineer IV - Six Years (4 with PE) of substation test experience. 

Specialized Skills: Working knowledge of using a laptop PC and relay test equipment to calibrate protective relays and metering panels.  Must have the ability to read substation protection and control prints and equipment schematics.  Must be proficient with ITS high voltage switching rules and procedures, and perform switching.
