E-II, E-III System Reliability Engineer


Description

Accumulate, analyze, interpret, monitor, and report data and information on the overall operations and performance of the electric power transmission system.  Accountable for supporting and executing system reliability plans, processes, guidelines, and procedures.  Supports senior engineers in recommending improvement opportunities that enhance the operations and performance of the transmission system and aligns with Corporate goals and objectives.  A Level II Engineer will require assistance and overall supervision from senior engineers.  A Level III Engineer should be able work with moderate assistance from senior engineers.  

Lead sustained outage investigator.  Manages the overall outage reporting process to ensure we investigate and evaluate all sustained outages in a timely manner and initiate follow up activities with our Members, Family of Company (FOC) personnel and the Integrated Transmission System (ITS) partners to prevent outages or reduce outage durations. 

Responsible for direct communications with the Member Operations and Engineering departments to identify and answer their concerns related to specifice outages or events.

A Level II Engineer will require assistance and overall supervision from senior engineers.  A Level III Engineer should be able work with moderate assistance from senior engineers.  

Education:  Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering

Experience:  Level II:  18-36 months power utility experience preferred

                      Level III:  3 years power utility experience

Licenses, Certifications and/or Registrations:  Valid Georgia Driver’s License, ability to pass ITS qualified operator training course, ability to pass NERC CIP personnel risk assessment screening.

Specialized Skills (e.g., typing, computers, software, tools and equipment uses, etc.):  Proficient with Microsoft Excel spreadsheets and graphics; experience with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, large databases and/or Microsoft Access.  Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills; ability to plan, organize and successfully complete assignments with supervision. Capable of preparing and delivering presentations to various groups (internal and external).  Experience with PRiSM, EDNA, Maximo software or similar desirable.
