The Area Coordinator will administer and conduct transmission and distribution substation maintenance activities in a defined geographic region in the state of Georgia. This position will initiate and plan scheduled outages, equipment replacement, mobile substation installations, etc.. The Area Coordinator will also develop and maintain close working relationships with Member Systems. Coordination and scheduling of contract maintenance personnel is required. This position will perform apparatus acceptance testing at transmission and distribution substations. This testing includes operation of the Doble M4000 Power Factor Test set, Vanguard Breaker Analyzer, etc.. This position must be able to troubleshoot and repair problems with transformers, circuit breakers, and other apparatus. A thorough knowledge of all aspects of transmission and distribution substation maintenance and operation is required.
Education: Associate Degree in Engineering Technology.
Experience: Six (6) years in substation maintenance, construction inspection, testing or operations.
Equivalent Experience: Eight (8) years direct experience with increasing responsibility.
Specialized Skills (e.g., typing, computers, software, tools and equipment uses, etc.): Typing, computers, software, tools and equipment uses, etc.. Physically capable of climbing and heavy lifting. Extensive travel. Some computer knowledge would be helpful.
Must be able to pass a NERC CIP personnel risk assessment screening.
