The Planning Technician will perform a variety of duties in support of the Community Development department. Duties will include, but are not limited to: assist the general public, developers, and contractors with plan-related application processes; accept, distribute and enter planning submittals, related construction documents, correspondence, and other materials; perform data entry; assist in administration of zoning, subdivision and other planning related ordinances; and provide assistance to assigned supervisory personnel and other staff. Report to and/or perform job functions as assigned by the Community Development Director or the director’s designee.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is constantly required to read a computer screen or documents, grasp, handle, feel, type, listen, hear, reach, see, speak, walk, and sit for long periods. The employee is frequently required to bend, stoop, crouch, carry, and lift up to 35lbs. Work is generally performed in a climate-controlled office. Hours are generally from 8:00am – 5:00pm Monday – Friday; however occasional overtime and/or attendance at night meetings may be required.
