Manager, Fluoridation & Preventive Health Activities

Job Summary:

The position’s main responsibilities are, but not limited to, planning, facilitating and promoting the Association’s activities and programs, such as Action for Dental Health initiatives.  Incumbent will responsible for preparing policy recommendations and reports on water fluoridation and preventive health issues.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in biological sciences discipline.
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in/with public or private health care management or professional association management or health educational setting or government agency.
  • Must have experience with scientific literature reviews and issue analysis and report writing.
  • Excellent oral and written, short and long range planning, and relationship building skills.
  • Knowledge of political aspects of community water fluoridation methods, water campaigns and water systems, preventive oral health care, theory and clinical application.
  • Ability to communicate clearly with a variety of audiences.
  • Proficiency in MicroSoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Frequent travel required, including offsite state/national meetings, ADA’s Annual Meeting.

Highly desired skills:

  • Understanding of the political processes within state and federal agencies would be helpful for this position.
  • Knowledge base of the dental profession, education and licensing is preferred. Master’s degree in Public Health, Health Administration or equivalent.
  • Background as a dentist or hygienist strongly preferred.
