Assistant/Associate Professor Tenure-track Position 

The Department of Fire Science (FS) at New Jersey City University invites applications for a full-time tenure-track faculty appointment at the assistant or associate professor level commencing with the Fall 2018 semester.

An earned doctoral degree in a discipline pertaining to or directly supporting the field of Fire Science is preferred. Active ABDs preparing for dissertation defense will be considered; however, candidates pursuing a doctorate must provide evidence it will be fully completed by the end of the 2018-2019 academic year. Applicants must possess an active career with fire service experience at the rank of first line supervisor or above. A current research agenda in progress is required. Evidence of published works and presentations at professional meetings is preferred.

Candidates should demonstrate experience with student-centered teaching, and teaching that incorporates collaborative and active learning strategies. Relevant teaching experience should also include the ability to teach online, blended, and face to face courses. Must have a willingness to travel to multiple off site locations. Applicants will need an ability to cultivate and effectively work with external constituencies and a commitment to diversity among faculty, staff and students.
