The NJCU Department of Nursing is beginning an exciting period of development and expansion. A new Nursing Education Center at the Jersey City campus is being constructed for spring 2019, and nursing faculty are invited to join this new endeavor. The expansion includes new programs, facilities, and faculty. We are seeking faculty who want to utilize their skills in teaching, curriculum, assessment, advisement, leadership, and service to the university and community.

Candidates must have a minimum of 2 years’ experience teaching adult health, obstetrics, psychology, and community nursing. A master’s degree in nursing from a professionally and regionally accredited institution and a minimum of five years of professional experience in their clinical specialty is required. A current unencumbered NJ registered nurse license is required. (Out-of-state applicants must apply and receive a New Jersey Registered Nursing license through reciprocity/endorsement in order to be hired.) A current research agenda in progress is required.
An earned doctoral degree is preferred; however, candidates pursuing a doctorate must provide evidence it will be fully completed by the end of the 2018-2019 academic year.
Successful applicants will be expected to teach both basic and advanced courses at the undergraduate and graduate level, develop new programs and course offerings for the nursing department, maintain scholarly engagement in their respective field, and participate in student recruitment, advisement, and service activities at the department, college, university, and community level.
Teaching assignments will be at both the Jersey City and Wall Township locations. Faculty teaching assignments can include day, evening, weekend, and online courses. Candidates should demonstrate evidence of technological competence, working knowledge of student and program assessment, strong leadership, interpersonal and organizational skills, and commitment to diversity among faculty, staff, and students.
